The Maison
Four Chambres, Each with a Story
Experience the timeless elegance of Aureille, Provence, at L’Oustau des Martinets.
Our whole house rental welcomes guests for a minimum stay of four nights, May through September.
L’Oustau des Martinets offers four beautifully appointed en-suite bedrooms, each with its own distinctive Provençal character and a quiet connection to the landscape of Aureille.
Thoughtfully designed to complement the history of our 17th-century stone home, every room combines old-world charm with simple, refined comfort. From views across olive groves and village rooftops to the ruins of the Castelas, the Alpilles and distant horizons to the Mediterranean, no two rooms are quite alike.
La Lavande, L’Olivier, Le Martinet and Les Alpilles each invite you to experience Provence at an unhurried pace—a peaceful place to rest, wake to the light of the south of France, and feel completely at home.

Castle Castelas Views
Soft, peaceful and unmistakably Provençal, La Lavande takes its inspiration from the colors and quiet beauty of the surrounding countryside. Olive trees frame the view just beyond the window, while the ancient ruins of the Castelas castle rise above the village in the distance.
With a queen bed and en-suite bath, La Lavande is an intimate retreat filled with the simple charm of Provence—a lovely place to wake slowly and begin another day in Aureille. It is even more glorious in the evenings when you wine down.
King Bed · En-Suite Bath · Village & Mediterranean Views
Warm and serene, L’Olivier reflects one of Provence’s most enduring symbols—the olive tree. From its windows, enjoy views across the rooftops of Aureille and its village Church, with expansive vistas stretching south toward the Mediterranean.
Our bedroom with a king bed, and en-suite bath, L’Olivier offers a little extra space to settle in, unwind and enjoy the quiet rhythm of life in the Alpilles.

Queen Bed · En-Suite Bath · Sweeping Southern Views
Named for the swallows that grace the skies of Provence, Le Martinet is a light-filled room with sweeping views of our ancient village and toward Marseille and the Mediterranean beyond.
A queen bed, en-suite bath and tranquil atmosphere create an inviting retreat to wake up and enjoy the view. After a day spent exploring the villages, vineyards and landscapes of Provence, open the shutters, welcome the breeze, and simply enjoy the view.
King Size Modular Bed · En-Suite Bath · Private Rooftop Terrace
Perched beneath the Provençal sky, Les Alpilles offers one of the house’s most memorable settings. Its private rooftop terrace overlooks the ruins of the Castelas, with views across olive groves and toward the rugged landscape of the Alpilles.
Inside, a modular full/queen/king size bed and en-suite bath provide an elegant and peaceful retreat. Outside, the terrace is your own little corner of Provence—perfect for morning coffee, an afternoon with a book, or a quiet glass of wine as the evening light settles over Aureille.

La Salon

At the heart of L’Oustau des Martinets is our welcoming Provençal kitchen—a place made for lingering over morning coffee, preparing something discovered at the village market, or sharing a bottle of wine at the end of the day.
Original timber beams, warm wood cabinetry, a traditional farmhouse sink and a generous central table preserve the character of the old stone house, while modern conveniences make the kitchen comfortable and practical for today’s guests.
Sunlight filters through the windows and doors, giving the room the relaxed warmth of a true Provençal home. Whether preparing a leisurely breakfast with fresh bread and fruit from the marché or gathering around the table with friends, La Cuisine is less a room for cooking than a place for living.
Set beneath a magnificent vaulted stone ceiling, the living and dining room is perhaps the most atmospheric space at L’Oustau des Martinets. Centuries-old stonework surrounds a warm, intimate setting where the history of the house can be felt at every turn.
At the heart of the room, a grand Provençal fireplace recalls generations gathered here before, while comfortable seating and a welcoming dining area invite guests to do much the same today. It is a place for long dinners, quiet conversation, a good book, or a glass of wine beside the fire.
Cool and peaceful during the Provençal summer and wonderfully inviting on cooler evenings, Le Salon is the soul of the house—a room shaped by centuries, meant simply to be enjoyed.

A Private Provençal Courtyard
Tucked just inside the private entrance to L’Oustau des Martinets, is the home's secluded little courtyard made for slowing down.
Sheltered by stone walls and softened by seasonal greenery, its shaded seating, climbing grapevines and gentle sound of the stone fountain create a wonderfully peaceful retreat. It is a lovely place for morning coffee, an afternoon book, fromage and a glass of local wine, then espresso. Perhaps an apéritif before wandering into the village for dinner.
This is your own quiet corner of Provence—private, unhurried.
